About Our Doctor

Dr. Jonathan Woolfson is widely known as a pioneer in LASIK. He has performed over 80,000 LASIK procedures, making him one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in North America. What make Dr. Woolfson unique among LASIK surgeons is the trust and confidence other doctors have in him. There is nothing more impressive than having more than 300 eye doctors from around the world choose him for their own LASIK procedures.

Education/Training
After graduating from Vanderbilt Medical School and completing his residency at Emory University, Dr. Woolfson began his Lasik training in South Africa, long before FDA approval. As soon as LASIK received FDA approval, he returned to the Unites States to help train and teach other surgeons his advanced techniques.

FDA Clinical Studies and Honors
After more than a decade in the industry, Dr. Woolfson has been selected by several companies, including VISX, Inc., and Laserlight Technologies, as a clinical investigator for their equipment, helping not only to advance LASIK, but to ensure that the procedure is performed with the best possible technology and training. Because of his rigorous standards, he has received numerous honors including the prestigious VISX Star Award. In addition, Dr. Woolfson has served as a national proctor, providing training and certification to more than 100 LASIK surgeons in North America.

Accomplishments and Memberships
Dr. Woolfson is a Board certified ophthalmic surgeon with memberships in the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the American Medical Association. He has presented at both national and international optometry and ophthalmology meetings, having been asked to speak about his extensive LASIK experience. In fact, a large part of his practice involves treating complex cases and patients who have previously had LASIK at other facilities.
